How Indonesia income tax works
The calculator applies the published tax bands to income after the supported deductions and personal allowance. Each band applies only to the portion inside it. These bands use the taxable income base.
Non-taxable income (PTKP): IDR 54000000. The result includes the actual allowed amount and the marginal effect of tapering.
| Taxable annual income | Rate |
|---|---|
| IDR 0 - 60,000,000 | 5% |
| IDR 60,000,000 - 250,000,000 | 15% |
| IDR 250,000,000 - 500,000,000 | 25% |
| IDR 500,000,000 - 5,000,000,000 | 30% |
| IDR 5,000,000,000 - and above | 35% |
The displayed tax total covers Income tax Article 21. See the country assumptions for details.
Calculation assumptions
- Resident permanent employee (pegawai tetap) with one employer for the full year.
- Annual net income (penghasilan neto) is taken from Form 1721-A1: gross income including employer-paid accident, life and health premiums, less the 5% occupational expense (up to IDR 6,000,000) and the employee pension contribution.
- PTKP is IDR 54,000,000, plus IDR 4,500,000 if married and IDR 4,500,000 for each dependant up to three; the remainder is taxed at the Article 17 rates.
