RELOCATION Modelled
50% first-employment income exemption
Half of qualifying employment remuneration can be exempt from Cyprus income tax for up to 17 years.
Annual remuneration must exceed EUR 55,000.
The prior non-residence and first-employment tests depend on when employment began.
The exemption affects income tax, while Social Insurance and GESY continue under their own bases.
There is no reliable salary cutoff at which a company automatically becomes better. The comparison must start with business revenue and include genuine expenses, owner salary, dividends, GESY, any applicable SDC, accounting costs, VAT and social insurance.
The work must be genuine business activity rather than an employment relationship presented as contracting.
Cyprus corporate income tax is 15% from 2026.
The owner’s residence and domicile status changes the treatment of dividends.
A personalised company comparison is not yet included in the take-home figure.
For the profile "Standard employment income" in 2026, income tax is EUR 382 and employee contributions are EUR 3,092. That leaves EUR 23,527 a year, or EUR 1,961 a month, with 12.9% of gross pay deducted.
The calculator applies the published tax bands to income after the supported deductions. Each band applies only to the portion inside it. These bands use the taxable income base.
