How Cyprus income tax works
Progressive tax applies to income after the supported deductions. Each band taxes only the portion inside it. These bands use the taxable income base.
| Taxable annual income | Rate |
|---|---|
| EUR 0 - 22,000 | 0% |
| EUR 22,000 - 32,000 | 20% |
| EUR 32,000 - 42,000 | 25% |
| EUR 42,000 - 72,000 | 30% |
| EUR 72,000 - and above | 35% |
Social contributions
The listed contributions are additional to the main tax schedule. Some countries include national-insurance premiums in that schedule; see the country assumptions to avoid double counting. Employer payments do not reduce employee take-home pay. Contribution thresholds and rounding use the period specified by the rule.
| Contribution | Rate / bands | Assessment |
|---|---|---|
| Social Insurance | 8.8% | Annual; cap EUR 68904 |
| GESY healthcare | 2.65% | Annual; cap EUR 180000 |
| Employer Social Insurance | 8.8% | Annual; cap EUR 68904 |
| Employer GESY | 2.9% | Annual |
Deductions & supported scenarios
Supported payments: Provident fund, Pension, Health insurance, Life insurance. Tax deductibility and actual cash payments are tracked separately. Enter only the payment arrangements described in the questions and country limitations.
The supported combined limit is 20% of the relevant income base.
Where an optimisation scenario is supported, the engine recalculates tax and shows the trade-off in spendable income. Absence of a suggestion does not establish that no other legal relief exists.
