ABOUT SALARYEYE

A clearer view of what you take home

SalaryEye helps people understand what they actually take home from their salary across different countries.

What SalaryEye does

SalaryEye turns a gross salary into an estimated net salary using the country-specific rules available for the selected employee profile. Depending on the country, that can include income tax, social insurance, healthcare, pension contributions, payroll deductions and supported allowances. The result explains each amount instead of presenting one unexplained total.

Why it exists

Salary comparisons are difficult when tax systems, contribution ceilings, filing profiles and local rules differ. SalaryEye brings the relevant calculation, assumptions and primary sources together so that users can see what is included, what is excluded and which tax year is being used.

How calculations are built

Rates, bands, thresholds and contribution rules are taken from government tax authorities, ministries, social-insurance bodies, official legislation and other primary sources wherever possible. Rules are stored by tax year and version. Worked examples are recalculated using the same engine as the interactive calculator. The methodology page explains source selection, rounding, versioning and maintenance in more detail.

How tax data is maintained

Each source records the date it was reviewed. SalaryEye periodically checks official sources for changes, and tax rules are updated only after the changed material has been examined. Country pages show their tax year, source review dates, assumptions and limitations. Historical versions are retained where the product supports historical calculations.

Accuracy and limitations

SalaryEye provides estimates, not tax, legal or financial advice. Payroll rounding, benefits, employer arrangements, regional rules and personal circumstances can change the result. A calculator is published only for the profile described on its page, and incomplete situations are identified rather than silently estimated. Users should confirm important decisions with the relevant authority or a qualified professional.

Who operates SalaryEye

SalaryEye is operated by Chrysis Pitsillides. It is an independent salary-information product and is not a government service or tax authority. If a rule appears incorrect or outdated, please contact SalaryEye or use the report link on the relevant country page.
