Sources and comparison method
The chart spaces the published reference points evenly for readability and places your salary within the correct band. It is a comparison guide, not a percentile or a linear number line.
Distribution: 2022 (survey reference month, October in most countries), Full-time employees in organisations with at least 10 employees, excluding public administration, defence and compulsory social security; gross monthly earnings. Eurostat Structure of Earnings Survey 2022.
For the profile "Single" in 2026, income tax is EUR 10,383 and employee contributions are EUR 3,156. That leaves EUR 41,462 a year, or EUR 3,455 a month, with 24.6% of gross pay deducted.
The calculator applies the published tax bands to income after the supported deductions. Each band applies only to the portion inside it. These bands use the taxable income base.

Tax credits and reductions applied after the main tariff: Single personal tax credit, PAYE employee tax credit. Their amounts depend on the supported income profile; they do not reduce additional taxes or contributions.
Additional schedules: Universal Social Charge. These are calculated separately and included in the tax total. Component-specific credits are applied only to their own tax schedule.
The displayed tax total covers Income tax & USC. See the country assumptions for details.
Calculation assumptions
Irish tax-resident PAYE employee aged 23-59 throughout 2026, with the selected filing status and one Class A employment per entered earner.
Equal monthly ordinary salary for the whole year, between EUR30,000 and EUR80,000 household gross; no low-pay PRSI credit or lower employer-rate band applies.
PRSI uses nine monthly payments at 4.2% and three at 4.35%; employer rates are 11.25% and 11.40%. Each monthly payment is rounded to cents.
USC and PRSI are calculated separately for each earner. Income tax uses the selected personal credits and standard-rate band.
MyFutureFund contributions apply only when that enrollment option is selected. Employee payments reduce net cash, not taxable pay.
Full-year Irish PAYE employees aged 23-59 with household gross EUR30,000-80,000 only. Independent professional verification pending.
Supported filing statuses include single, Single Person Child Carer, married or civil partners with one or two incomes, and widowed or surviving civil partners.
Home Carer Tax Credit, year-specific Widowed Parent Tax Credit, blind-person credits, medical-card USC relief and age exemption are not yet included.
No rent or mortgage credits, pension tax relief, emergency tax, benefit in kind or other income.
