France Income Tax
Source-backed employee estimate for 2025-01-01 to 2025-12-31.
How France income tax works
Progressive tax applies to income after the supported deductions and personal allowance. Each band taxes only the portion inside it. These bands use the taxable income base.
Standard 10% employee-expense allowance: 10% of the fiscal salary base, minimum EUR 509, maximum EUR 14555. The result includes the actual allowed amount and the marginal effect of tapering.
| Taxable annual income | Rate |
|---|---|
| EUR 0 - 11,600 | 0% |
| EUR 11,600 - 29,579 | 11% |
| EUR 29,579 - 84,577 | 30% |
| EUR 84,577 - 181,917 | 41% |
| EUR 181,917 - and above | 45% |
Tax credits and reductions applied after the main tariff: Single-person decote. Their amounts depend on the supported income profile; they do not reduce additional taxes or contributions.
Calculation assumptions
- Assessment in 2026 of salary earned in 2025. Full-year French resident, single, one tax share, aged 18-64, no children or other income.
- Use gross cash salary, actual annual employee contributions and annual payslip net imposable before the 10% expense allowance. Employer health benefits and non-deductible CSG must already be reflected in the supplied net taxable salary.
- The model does not infer sector contribution rates or recreate net taxable pay from gross. It uses the entered payslip fiscal base.
- The standard 10% employee-expense allowance is limited to EUR509-14,555 and never exceeds salary; single-person decote is applied as a non-refundable reduction.
- Supported taxable income after the allowance is at least EUR20,000 and gross is at most EUR200,000, excluding high-income surtaxes and small-tax collection exceptions.
