How Greece income tax works
Progressive tax applies to income after the supported deductions. Each band taxes only the portion inside it. These bands use the taxable income base.
| Taxable annual income | Rate |
|---|---|
| EUR 0 - 10,000 | 9% |
| EUR 10,000 - 20,000 | 20% |
| EUR 20,000 - 30,000 | 26% |
| EUR 30,000 - 40,000 | 34% |
| EUR 40,000 - 60,000 | 39% |
| EUR 60,000 - and above | 44% |
Tax credits and reductions applied after the main tariff: No-child employment tax credit. Their amounts depend on the supported income profile; they do not reduce additional taxes or contributions.
Calculation assumptions
- Greek resident private employee aged 31-64, no children or disability exemptions, all electronic-spending requirements met.
- Annual gross includes all holiday and Christmas salary payments. Enter the total annual amount and actual annual employee statutory contributions.
- Taxable salary excludes the entered employee statutory contributions. The 2026 no-child tariff and tapered EUR777 employment credit apply.
- Monthly result is an average over twelve calendar months, not the amount of each of fourteen salary payments.
